*NEW* Quilt Shop Hop: Central/South Central Cities
We were still able to find two quilt shops in the state that have not been included in one of our shop hops. We will start our day in Randall at The Old Creamery Quilt Shop. Just as the name implies, the shop is nestled in a former creamery building. They carry a wide selection of fabrics as well as yarn and wool. If you want to grab an espresso on the way out to keep you energized for the morning they have an espresso bar with a variety of flavors. Next we will head to Alexandria to visit Dawn’s Quilt Shop. It should be noted that Alexandria’s downtown area near Dawn’s suffered a devastating fire in February, destroying several businesses and impacting many others. While the quilt shop was not destroyed it had to overcome some damage. Finally, we’ll end our day together returning to what many of you noted as a favorite shop, the Sweetwater Cotton Shoppe. The shop has a real cozy feel and features a variety of fabrics including 30’s, Civil War reproductions, and baby prints. They also design a number of their own projects using a variety of techniques. We will lunch (on your own) in Alexandria at Angelina’s Restaurant.
District vans will transport you. Meet at the Centennial District Offices near the visitor parking.
