*NEW* The Holocaust - Never to Forget

Adult Activities and Classes / Special Interest & Trips / Holocaust -
Winter 2024

This class is designed to emphasize critical thinking, connections, and the role individuals have in their society.

Join Tom Franta, a Centennial educator, to explore 20th century genocides, first focusing on Armenia and then delving into an in-depth overview of the Holocaust. Topics covered will include the rise of Hitler, the Nazification of Germany, and the action of the Nazi government in organizing and transporting undesirables to concentration camps. Explore the Resistance movements, both passive and aggressive. Tom will share his experiences with his travels to Holocaust sites in Europe, as well as sharing perspectives from renowned Holocaust scholars and survivors. Dr. Gregory Stanton’s “Ten Stages of Genocide” will be introduced, which shows progression to atrocities. Tom will investigate Hitler’s chilling quote which (paraphrased here) says “let us do to the Jews what the Turks did to the Armenians…because who remembers Armenians?”
