    ECS is a check of a child's hearing and vision, weight and height, health history, immunizations, speech and language, general development and motor skills.Screenings are held seven times per year at St. Mark Church on North Road in Circle Pines. Screenings are free and offered once during a child's preschool years.Please don't wait until a child is five to have them screened. This assistance helps children get off to a good start when they enter school. Please note that screening is NOT a readiness test for kindergarten.Important note! There is no charge for this screening, but you must complete the checkout to be enrolled. You must also receive a confirmation email upon checkout or you will not be considered enrolled for your time slot. What does this screening include? vision and hearing check growth evaluation immunization review developmental screening using a Minnesota state approved standardized tool family health and development review information and resources for your child It does not include recommendations on whether your child is ready for kindergarten. Kindergarten entrance is based on the state age criteria of 5 years of age on or before September 1 and a parent’s decision.Screening offers a snapshot of your child's health and development. It may indicate the need for further health or developmental assessment. This allows time for early intervention before the start of kindergarten.Minnesota State screening requirements may also take place through another school district, a physician’s office, the Head Start program or Public Health.Your family physician may do the screening if a state approved developmental tool is used. Check with your doctor’s office to see if their screening meets the state’s requirements.ORChildren who attend Head Start or Early Childhood Special Education programs may not need to be screened.

    Early Childhood Screening is a FREE check of a child's hearing and vision, weight and height, health history, immunizations, speech and language, general development and motor skills. Screening identifies children who may have health or developmental concerns and allows for appropriate assistance as early as possible. Please note that screening is NOT a readiness test for kindergarten.Screening is required for Kindergarten entrance. A child can be screened anytime after age 3. Important note! There is no charge for this screening, but you must complete the checkout to be enrolled.
