  • Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

    ECFE Is here for you and your child! ECFE welcomes parents or other adult caregivers to attend classes with a child from birth to age 5. Classes are organized by age to provide developmentally-appropriate activities. Parent education is an important part of ECFE, and all weekly classes include a discussion period with a licensed parent educator. Weekly classes meet the entire school year; one-time and 3-week-long classes are also available.

  • Early Childhood Screening

    Early Childhood Screening takes place once each month, October through May. (We may hold screenings on additional days to meet state requirements for kindergarteners and preschoolers.) Each month's appointments are available online at least two months in advance. If you don't see an appointment time that works for you, please call the Early Childhood office at 763-792-6120 or email ECScreening@isd12.org to discuss alternatives.

  • Parent-Child Classes

    December 2023: If you need sibling care during your class, please call the office at 763-792-6120. Sibling care is currently full on some days. All classes except Explore with Baby and Little Tots involve some separation, in which the adults leave the classroom for a parenting discussion in another room with the parent educator. The length of discussion time and when it begins in the school year depends on the age and readiness of the students. If registering before June 1, you will be asked for optional alternate choices. All May registration will be placed into a lottery, with class placements occurring on June 1.

  • Parents-only Classes

    Check the seasonal Community Education brochures for Make & Takes, guest speakers, and other parent-only classes. Enjoy a little time for yourself! For in-person classes, children go to the ECFE classroom or sibling care room for supervised play while parents/caregivers spend the entire time in the parent education room. One child free per registered adult; additional children will be $5/class.
