Class registration for the 25-26 school year will open May 15, with the placement lottery taking place June 1. Class information can be found at earlychildhood.isd12.org.
Before and after school care for students enrolled in Centennial Preschool
The Jazz Band is open to any 7th or 8th Grader who plays one of the following instruments:
Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Piano, Electric Bass, Electric Guitar, or Drum Set. 6th graders may be accepted on an individual basis. Contact Mrs. Scheibe for more information. Regular attendance is very important to the success of the group and an attendance policy will be enforced. If an absence is necessary and unavoidable, please notify the director before the absence. The students will be given a list of rehearsal dates through the April 17th Jazz Night. Please note that students who have more than three unexcused absences will be asked to leave the group and fees will not be refunded. Students who will be involved in other activities meeting at the same time will need to talk with Mrs. Scheibe but should have no trouble participating in all activities.
Rhythm Section players (percussionists, bass guitar, electric guitar, and piano players) will need to audition. The audition date is set for Wednesday, January 14 at 3:10pm, in the band room. Any student who is not able to make the audition will need to make arrangements with Mrs. Scheibe before that date. Rhythm Section ONLY practice: Jan 21, 28, Feb 4, 11.
Jazz Band Performance: Friday, April 17 at 7:30 pm in CMS Cafeteria. Tickets $5. Dessert Provided.
