  • Avoid the Pitfalls of Perimenopause/Menopause (Online)

    Perimenopause starts around the age of 35 for most women and can last 10-15 years. Common symptoms include fatigue, migraines, weight gain, water retention, depression, sleep disturbances, joint aches, hot flashes, anger flashes, fibroids, exaggerated PMS and more. Once you understand exactly what is causing all the troublesome symptoms, they are much easier to correct. We’ll discuss how to get hormone levels measured, blood test vs. saliva test and what to do with the results; traditional HRT vs. bioidentical acupressure points to assist in symptom relief and nutritional musts.   • Boot Camp/Core Fitness

    Morning Class - Open to all fitness levels. Classes will train both cardio and strength using timed, high-intensity intervals. There will also be a focus on building core muscle groups while improving posture through a variety of exercises that strengthen the abdomen and back muscles and increase flexibility. Modifications will be offered to ensure success for all participants.
  • Feet, Knees & Ankles (Online)

    Have you taken a good look at your feet, ankles or knees lately? They support the weight of your entire body. Take off your shoes and socks, roll up your pants and look in a mirror. Do your ankles roll in? Are your arches flat? Do you have bunions or calluses? Are your toes straight or do they bend in? Does your big toe pull in towards the other toes? Do your knees lock back? Do your kneecaps turn in or pull outward? In this workshop, you’ll learn simple things to help correct these common problems.   • Foot Care Clinic

    We are hosting Jessica Lyall, a mobile nurse specializing in foot care to provide private, individual, 45-minute foot care appointments. Some of the services Jessica can provide include toenail trimming, filing down thick nails, removing corns, filing calluses, diabetic foot assessment, circulation assessment, fungal nails, non-infected ingrown nails, performing a shoe assessment if needed, and making any recommendations for certain skin conditions or foot ailments. Jessica does not sell any products but can make recommendations for various products if needed. The room we are utilizing will be designed to provide privacy. If you have any questions in advance of registering, please contact Community Education and we can pass along any specific inquiries to Jessica if needed.

    This Japanese art form and reflective practice, shinrin-yoku, loosely translates to "taking in the forest through our sense." Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed? Forest Therapy is a practice of spending time in forested areas for the purpose of enhancing health, wellness, and happiness. Come slow down, de-stress from your daily routine, and deepen your connection to nature. It is different than other nature experiences. In forest bathing, we will be slowing down with intentionality and engaging all our senses through some activities. Give your mind and body some time to rest, wander and wonder in nature. You will need a valid state park vehicle permit ($7/day or $35/year).

    In this class, you will learn about the fundamental yoga postures in most Hatha and Vinyasa classes. We will be incorporating breath with movement to build physical strength, flexibility, and mental clarity with the ultimate aim of a deeper connection to oneself.

Joint lubrication exercises are quite simple and easy to do yet produce rather remarkable results by helping to free your joints of pain.
