    All levels are welcome Summit Avenue features historic mansions, mature trees, and fall decorations. We will begin at the Caribou Coffee on Grand Avenue and head up to Summit Avenue. We will then make our way along Summit capturing fall scenes as we go. This will be a leisurely walk with plenty of time to capture some great fall photos. Don will provide tips and guidance along the way. You will need to bring a camera that allows for manual cameral settings, and a lens that can range in focal length from 24mm to 105mm.

Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography.” Regardless of the type of photography you do, light painting will help you improve your ability to see and understand light. Besides, it is just plain fun! Join professional photographer, Don Tredinnick, as we experiment with different light sources to create some amazing images. Don has spent time at many locations around the U.S. light painting everything from artwork to ghost towns. The results are photos that are truly unique. Don will demonstrate the use of flashlights, fiber optics, light pens, light wands, and a few other tools. We will create as a group and offer participants the opportunity to do the actual painting. Visit Fort Mackinac, a National Historic Landmark, founded in 1780 by the British. It is a restored military outpost with original building, re-enactments, storytelling, music, and interpreters dressed in 1880’s attire. Have an exceptional luncheon buffet (included) at the Grand Hotel. It is the world’s largest summer hotel and the premier attraction on Mackinac Island. After meal service, stroll along the majestic porch, view the glorious gardens, take photographs, enjoy the magnificent art in the hotel and purchase a souvenir in the gift shop.     Explore the world of power tools and woodworking in this introductory, hands-on class. Learn to safely use drills, routers, and saws. Tips on staining/varnishing at home will be covered. Week 1: Learn the proper way to use tools and important safety considerations as you make a picture frame. Everyone will use all the tools. Week 2: Complete a small bench. Students will be allowed to leave projects to finish the second night of class. There is plenty of available parking. Long hair must be tied back and no loose clothing for safety.
