  • Summer Academy Harry Potter (Entering Grades 3-4 by invitation only)

    Welcome to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! After the sorting hat determines which house students belong in, prepare to dive into all Hogwarts has to offer. Students will explore classes such as Potions, Herbology, Astrology, and Transfiguration. For those feeling brave, the Quidditch team may be in your future! Our field trip will be to the Bell Museum of Natural History. Registration is by invitation only and is non refundable after May 13. Teacher: Hi there!     Kids Club is childcare provided by ISD #12 - Centennial Community Education. Kids Club offers two separate childcare seasons: one season is for care provided during the school year; the other season is care provided during summer months. Summer Kids Club C.A.M.P. runs during the summer and is for children who will be enrolled and planning to attend kindergarten through 6th grade that upcoming September. Students must be able to use the restroom independently. 4/25/2024 Update for Enrolling in Kids Club for the 2024-25 School Year: Kids Club now has limited space remaining for Window 2 before school care at Blue Heron Elementary and Centerville Elementary, so we will go to a lottery for Window 2. Kids Club has limited space remaining for Window 2 for after school care at Rice Lake Elementary, so we will go to a lottery for Window 2. Kids Club will begin a wait list for students requesting before school care at Rice Lake Elementary. Kids Club 2024-25 School Year Registration Enrollment for the 2024-25 Kids Club school year (gr. K-5) will occur within registration lottery windows. All registrations received during a window have equal chance of being accepted/approved. Registrations contracts will be accepted based upon available enrollment space; they will not be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Prior participation in Kids Club does not guarantee an enrollment contract will be accepted. If during the registration window, we fill to capacity or it is determined that there will not be enough enrollment spots for all received registration contracts: All registrations received during that window will be randomized. Registrations will be accepted in random order. Registrations that are not accepted: Will be placed on a wait list in randomized order. All windows moving forward will have contracts randomized and placed on the wait list in random order. Window 1 -- April 1-April 15 Current Kids Club and Pre-K Kids Club Families. This window is for families who have children currently attending Kids Club and/or Pre-K Kids Club for 2023-24 and are in good standing. Families may also remit registration contracts for incoming siblings of currently attending children. All qualifying families for Window 1 will also receive an email reminder to register. Registration Fee: $40 per child. Window 2 -- April 29-May 13 New Families, and families enrolled in ISD 12 elementary schools who are not currently enrolled in Kids Club. (This includes anyone with a school assignment, as well as incoming Kindergarten with no older siblings who are already enrolled in Kids Club.) Space is limited. Registration fee: $55 per child. Window 3 -- June 17 Open Registration; all families are welcome to register, and registration will remain open. Space is limited. Contracts will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Registration fee: $55 per child. Kids Club 2023-24 School Year Registration Kids Club registration for the 2023-24 school year is currently open. Availability is constantly changing, so please complete a registration contract; we will contact you regarding a start date when an enrollment spot becomes available for your child. To search for alternative child care options, please visit www.parentaware.org. After you remit a contract for your child, we will contact you with a start date if/when a spot is available for your child. In order to attend Kids Club, all Centennial Community Education program balances must be paid in full. Accounts with a past due balance will not be approved. Kids Club school-age child care is available for all families enrolled in Centennial Schools ISD 12. The program provides before and after school care at all five elementary schools during the school year, and all-day care during the summer months at select school site locations for any students enrolled and planning to attend kindergarten through 6th grade the upcoming school year. Students must be able to use the restroom independently. Kids Club school-age care requires a nonrefundable registration fee of $55 per child, which is automatically collected at the time a pending contract is approved. Schedules must be consistently the same weekdays from week to week. Enrolling for before school care requires a minimum of 2 days. Enrolling for after school care requires a minimum of 2 days. All schedule changes (known as contract changes) are subject to a $25 contract change fee per contract. All contract changes require a two-week advanced notice, either by requesting the change using your family's Eleyo account or by emailing kidsclub@isd12.org. When requesting a contract be canceled/withdrawn requires a two-week advanced notice, either by requesting the withdrawal using your family's Eleyo or be emailing kidsclub@isd12.org. Summer Kids Club C.A.M.P. 2024 This program runs Tuesday, June 11 and runs through Friday, August 16. Summer Kids Club C.A.M.P. is closed June 19, July 4 & 5. *Summer locations are TBD. Space will be limited at each site. Kids Club will provide limited optional care August 19-22 at limited sites. More information regarding these days and sign-up will be available in June.   • Summer Academy Crime Scene Science (Entering Grades 5-6 by invitation only)

    Have you ever wanted to help solve a crime? We're looking for some super sleuths to dig up clues, identify suspects and help put the criminals behind bars. We'll use different crime scene investigation techniques like fingerprinting, impressions analysis, deciphering eyewitness accounts and other forensic evidence to help piece together the clues and close the case. Our field trip will be to the Midwest Regional Forensic Laboratory in Andover. Registration is by invitation only and is non refundable after May 13. Teacher Bio: Kris Cardille. I have an elementary education degree from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I have been involved in Centennial School District for the past 15 years-ish. I have been a substitute in the elementary schools and for the past 2 years have been the district sub. I have also coached varsity softball for 10 years. Because I like to watch Hallmark movies and mysteries to see if I can figure out who dunnit, I figured this class would be a great fit

    Third and fourth graders engage in fun coding challenges to learn how to solve problems through programming with a team or partner. After an introduction to programming and coding, students will learn how to program Dash the robot through different challenges! Our field trip will be to the University of Minnesota Robotics Department Registration is by invitation only and is non refundable after May 13. Teachers: Ms. Gemuenden's Bio: Megan Gemuenden is a third-grade teacher at Rice Lake Elementary School. This is her fifth year as a third-grade teacher in the district. In the summers, she has taught Targeted Services and coached at Camp Invention, a STEM and engineering camp. In her free time, she loves to read, run, cross country ski (when there's snow) and play board games. Ms. Sheedlo's Bio: Annie Sheedlo is a second-grade teacher at Rice Lake Elementary School. This is her second year at Rice Lake, but last year, she taught third grade. In addition to Summer Academy, she plans to compete in the "Tough Mudder" and eat popsicles!
  • Summer Academy Graphic Design/Animation (Entering Grades 5-6 by invitation only)

    This is a Graphic Arts and Animation class. Students will learn and create the basics of graphic design, graphic art, illustration and animation. We will be creating lettering, movie posters, comics, character designs, Claymation animation and much more! Students will be creating with digital and traditional media. Students will have multiple projects that they will get to take home. Our field trip will to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Registration is by invitation only and is non refundable after May 13. Teacher: MacKenzie Mitzuk is an Art Teacher who works at Centennial Middle School and Centennial High School. She has a Bachelors of Science in Art Education from St. Cloud State University and a Masters of Fine Arts from Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a focus in painting, illustration and sculpture.

  • Youth Cougar Football Camp (entering gr. 2-5)

    Designed for tackle football players. This camp features offensive instruction including technique play for quarterbacks, running backs, receivers and linemen. Defensive instruction includes technique play for interior linemen, linebackers, ends and defensive backs. Kicking game skills will also be covered. Participants will be divided into groups according to age. Come in comfortable athletic clothing and tennis shoes. Helmet and other equipment not needed. Bring a water bottle with your name on it. Camp includes a t-shirt and instruction by high school football coaches and players. Players who are signed up with CYFA for fall 2024 tackle football can attend camp for free; however, must register. Those not registered with CYFA, camp fee $65 Please select the session that correlates with your child's grade level they will be entering in the fall. Registrations received after July 23 cannot be guaranteed a t-shirt.
  • Centennial Dance Clinic (gr. K-6)

    Join the CHS Dance Team for an evening of dance, pizza and fun. Learn a dance routine from the high school dancers and coaching staff to perform during a Centennial home FOOTBALL game on September 13. Practice for the performance will be on Thursday, September 12. Wear comfy athletic clothes, tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. On game day, drop your dancer off at the CHS West cafeteria at 6:30 pm to practice before the game. After the half-time performance, pick up your dancer on the sideline to watch the remainder of the game. Family members will need to pay to attend the game. Registration fee includes a t-shirt, pizza on Thursday, game entry fee and dance instruction. Indicate t-shirt size when registering. Registration closes Sep 3.
  • Summer Academy Ocean Adventures (Entering Grades 3-4 by invitation only)

    Have a 'whale of a time' exploring the deep blue sea this summer! You will learn about ocean life in all parts of the sea, from the shallow tide pools to the deep, dark abyss! We have a variety of science experiments/lessons, games, art projects, and videos/movies to share with you! You will create a costume for a play, and take a trip to the Sea Life Aquarium! While there, we hope to take a special class about habitats and adaptations and then go behind the scenes to see how the animals are fed and cared for. These 6 days will 'shore-ly' make you want to dance in your 'flippers!' We hope to ‘sea’ you there! Our field trip will be to Sealife Aquarium at the Mall of America. Please note that due to instructor availability, this class has a few changes in the regular schedule. Class starts Thursday, June 13 and you meet on Friday, June 14.
