Parents separate for their discussion time while children continue to play and learn together. Welding a Steel RoseCreateBeginner to Intermediate This class will introduce you to TIG welding and hand tool use for metal work. TIG welding uses an inert gas (argon) that bonds metal without wire feed, rods or sticks. You must have some hand strength to use the cutting and bending tools that shape the rose. Safety and design instruction will be covered. We'll use 3 steel discs and a steel rod to create a rose that will last forever. There will be a brief discussion of rose history and art to open the class. Wear a long-sleeved shirt, long-legged jeans or other sturdy long-legged pants, close-toed leather shoes or boots. Bring leather work gloves, welding helmet if you have one, a lunch or snack and refillable water bottle. Instructor will provide TIG welder and welding material, welding helmets, safety glasses, extra gloves, cutting and bending hand tools, vise, anvil, electric drill and angle grinder.Summer 2025

Wiggle Time (parent/child ages 2-3)Sports & RecreationChildren will use mats, parachutes, trampoline, and other equipment to explore and discover the world around them developing fundamental movement and problem solving skills. This is a great opportunity to get in the gym with your child and play in a safe, fun, semi-structured environment. Children run, tumble, spend time with you, and develop motor skills. Class consists of 10 minutes of group time, 30 minutes of open (semi-structured free time) and 5 minutes of group time at the end of class. Wear non-baggy athletic clothes.Summer 2025

Wild Animals Art & Nature Camp (age 7+)CreateExplore and draw wild animals native to Minnesota in this art and natural science camp. We’ll work with a variety of art materials, learn about habitat, diet, identify tracks, and discuss the science behind their unique abilities. You will even get to make your very own wild animal mask to wear home.Summer 2025

Woodworking 2.0 (entering gr. 4-7)CreateBuild a paddle boat, a bird house, trophy stand and garden tote. Participants will learn to measure, cut, sand, paint and then take home each project they build. This class educates participants on the use of basic tools (hammers, nails, screwdriver, measuring tape, T-square and more). SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY. No power tools will be used in this class. NOTE: Participants should be comfortable cutting using a small saw as well as using other hand tools. Wear clothes that can get paint on them.Summer 2025

PopularYoung ExplorersParent-Child ClassesAdd-On Class: Registration required. The Young Explorers series allows for play and learning focused on a different theme for each class. Classes meet Tuesdays for 3 weeks from 1-2:30pm. Please note that classes may include guest speakers and field trips. This is a separating class, and parenting time will include discussions of theme-related topics as well as general joys and concerns. Sibling care is available for onsite days for an additional $10 per child per class ($7 for Young Bakers). Class Dates Description Young Farmers September 16, 23, 30 We'll learn about farms, farmers, crops, and animals. A visit to Autumnwood Farms will bring it all to life! Young Bakers October 21, 28, November 4 We will explore age-appropriate baking recipes without using an oven. Young Scientists November 25, December 2, 9 Opportunities for children to use their minds and hands to play, explore, and learn. What fun things will we create? Young Chefs January 20, 27, February 3 We'll be whipping up a variety of recipes you can eat in the classroom and make again at home. Young Helpers February 17, 24, March 3 We will discover the helpers in our community - police, fire fighters, postal workers, librarians - and get a chance to be helpers ourselves. NEW! Young Performers March 31, April 7 Bring out your inner superstar! We'll explore the arts and learn about music therapy. This 2-week class is $20 per child, with sibling care available for $7 per child. (Be sure to select the $7 sibling care rate.) Young Gardeners April 21, 23, May 5 How does your garden grow? We'll explore plants and the growing cycle. Prepare to get your hands dirty as we visit All Good Organics in Centerville to see what is growing in the greenhouse and visit the baby goats! Notes for registration: There is no lottery for Young Explorers classes; you will be able to register for any session where there is room. You may register for Young Explorer classes in addition to a year-long weekly class, but each class should be its own enrollment. Register for your primary class or first add-on class, then select Continue Shopping instead of Checkout. Add your next Young Explorers class and repeat the process until you have registered for all the classes you want.
